I know you didn’t achieve your New Year goals and resolutions in 2017. Are you wondering why I said so? A research shows that, statistically, only 8% of the people that write down their New year Resolutions achieve them. So I guess you didn’t achieve them or you are in the #nonewyearresolutions gang or maybe you are in the #donewyearresolutionswork? gang, or #NEWYEARRESOLUTIONSANDGOALSROCK.

Sincerely, as of 2014 and 2015, I was 1 million miles away from this lucky 8%. Funny right? I was so skeptical about new year resolutions and goals. I remember 2014 particularly because then,I was the perfect example of “a sheep without a shepherd”. In 2016, I started making more obvious moves to be a better Me. So, I randomly decided to write out my new year resolutions and goals and that was my first actual move towards ACHIEVING MY NEW YEAR GOALS. Anyhooo… Now, I can boast of achieving 90% of my new year resolutions and goals in 2017 (first time ever!) So in this post, I am going to share with you SEVEN TOP SECRETS that helped me achieve 90% of my new year resolutions/goals. Cheers to How you can achieve your new year resolutions!

#1: Get a Planner!

Nothing beats the good old  pen-and-planner duo when it comes to keeping track of your progress! it will help will definitely help you remember your goals daily. it will even aid you add more necessary goals and ambitions down. the planner would cover you from a new recipe you want to learn to fitness goals even to blogger goals for bloggers.start scribbling down your #lifegoals this 2018!

#2: DREAM REASONABLY!

This particular point is KEY for planning and achieving your new year resolutions. Be realistic with your goals and resolutions. I can’t even emphasize this enough. Be real with your goals!! OK, Let me give you a typical example of an unrealistic resolution of a coke addict: In 2018, I will not take coke no matter what. this is so unrealistic and unreal. instead of this, a better goal should be that; i will take coke twice monthly or even twice weekly and from there progress can be made to one monthly and then yearly. Another example is a travel blogger that just started out this year, with little to no income and his resolution is; To travel round the world in 2018. Why not set your resolution to be; I will travel round Nigeria or Africa in 2018?

#3:Take baby steps.

If you really want to achieve your new year goals and resolutions this 2018, you must take baby steps first! Break your goal down into smaller parts, that way, it becomes more controllable, less daunting and more attainable. You can break it down into daily or weekly tasks.

#4: Keep a GRATITUDE Journal

Most of all, this baby will keep you sane when the world is going haywire on you. even those moments that you will have no desire to go on with the goals and resolutions, your progress and growth in this journal will give you that needed little boost.

#5: Attend Personal development conferences or seminars.

If you can’t find any, listen to inspirational and personal development podcasts. In addition, there are also inspirational and motivational books that you can read to help you work towards being your best self, like: OPTION B by Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant, 5 SECOND RULE by Mel Robbins, WIN BIGLY by Scott Adams.

#6: Visualize you Achievements.

When I decided to started learning Spanish, This is the tactic I used to achieve it. The goal was to be able to make at least 10 sentences in Spanish and know 20 words in Spanish by heart. I kept on visualizing having Spanish Clients and visiting Cuba, conversing with the people I meet there in Spanish, and that was my number 1 motivation.

#7: Understand the power of NOW!

PROCRASTINATION is just a *** Run away from it and make “NOW” your best friend. Note worthy: Do not allow a little slumber, a little resting of your head or the word LATER to steal that resolution or goal from you. YOU CANT DO IT NOW!

  1. This post is the truth! I agree with all you have said, and I think it is of utmost importance to set realistic goals and actually write them down too.
    Also, it is very major to actually believe in yourself, because even though we say we will do it all, sometimes we don’t really believe in our dreams, so we let ourselves go.
