HEINEKEN LAGOS FASHION AND DESIGN WEEK 2017 - favorite fashion designs.

“Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life.” –Bill Cunningham

From October 25th to October 28th, the city of Eko was swept off her feet by over 10 million creatives, from International to Pan African designers, Bloggers, Celebs with great love for fashion, Buyers, the Press and also Fashion and selfie loving people, for the 7th edition of the Lagos Fashion and Design Week. This year’s edition was themed; ” Africa: Shaping Fashion’s Future’ and those four days were buttressed with Fashion Business Series, Fashion Installation, the Runway shows and the #HeinekenLFDW After Party, where my baby; Jidenna performed.

DISCLAIMER: This post is basically about the runway shows  the fashion designers that swept me off my feet. This list is not in the order of preference or otherwise.

This collection, is the definition of colourful and simple, I called it; Colourful Culture Infused Simplicity. I fell in love almost instantly with the way the designer combined colours, Africa and simplicity into this collection is one that deserves more than a gold medal. For me the simplicity of these designs made it 💯.

NO 3: MEENA

Meena is one fashion brand i have always loved and they always make their designs based on modern femininity, architectonic undertones and confident minimalism, which is their philosophy. The first time I heard about this brand was a few years ago when i was scooping through VOGUE IT, I found an article on Meena, and for some unknown reasons, the name was attractive and so I wanted to know more so i clicked away and since then, I have been drawn to Uju Offiah and her awesome designs and collections. (i hope i did not deviate so much ).  She definitely delivered as always at the HLFDW 2017.

NO 4: TOKYO JAMES.

My crazy self literally screams all through the period i watched their runways show. This collection was oozing masculinity to the core. The designs were CLASSIC! I’m a classic man…… This collection definitely resurrected my love for men in suits.

Gasps for breath* They took Mens’ fashion to a whole new level. i was blown and whistled away by the designs. it was as though they were ready for any kind of fashion battle if need be. they delivered all round; royalty, classical, modern, sophistication, simplicity, name it.

NO 6: JOHNSON JOHNSON

Another fashion brand that really delivered big time. I love all the designs and the way they did the beret formation makes a girl sing Formation. lol. The designs were simple and classical and at the same time showcase the beauty of Africa.

NO 7: STYLE TEMPLE.
